When I first released Butter, I didn't think I would be making this album. I had just finished a giant remixes/b-sides release covering my last two albums, and it felt redundant to make another one, not to mention how long it took to get it onto streaming.

Shortly after releasing Butter I got a few DMs from artists asking if they could remix my songs and if I was planning on doing a remix album. That answer quickly shifted from a "probably not" to a "maybe" as I got more people, but even then it didn't seem likely.
Then L.A Teeter released his own remix of Saturated Fat, joking about posting it in case I was doing a remix album. At that point it felt dumb to keep ignoring the signs that were being thrown at me, so I quickly made an announcement and within days the list of artists who wanted to be on Butter Remelted more than tripled in size.

Even still, I'm very surprised by how popular Butter turned out to be! My new year's resolution was to have a physical release of some sort, even if it was just one copy for myself. I was able to get a physical release on cassette and minidisc through Coraspect, and the album's cassettes sold out within the first two months!
And it seems like it's impossible for anyone to talk about my music now without talking about something related to Butter. And the usual "Hot Singles? Are they in my area?" joke I hear constantly as divine punishment for choosing that name has been suddenly replaced with butter dog memes and people just generally using the word butter whenever possible. I would be lying if I said I didn't love seeing every moment of the praise.

This goes without saying but thank you to the artists and listeners who helped me make this album! I'm being 100% serious when I say that this album would not have been possible without your enthusiasm.
