People who listen to future funk tend to have have a strong expectation for the visuals that accompany it. Look at any album, artist or repost channel and you'll see countless looped gifs of anime girls and pink and blue color schemes. I can appreciate that aesthetic, but since it doesn't really fit with who I am, It doesn't feel right to attach that brand to the music that I make.

With Butter, I wanted to provide my own alternative to that by subverting expectations in a way that still works with what future funk does at its core: taking samples and turning them into something new. With my other albums, I focused on creating french house and vaporwave sounds, but here I leaned more into the aesthetics that come with the samples themselves with a raw, 'homemade' production style that embraces imperfections to make the songs feel more grounded in reality.
